Rob -- making things happen in the basement

We hired Rob Gill, who is a referral through Roz. He's been great. He works quickly and efficiently, and has added all sorts of cool stuff that we didnt think of. Here's his progress as of last week, I'll post some from these days later! We can't wait to have more than 670 square feet of space! ha!

Basement continued...

Next... waterproofing. Some dudes with jackhammers and shovels showed up to tear up our basement and yard for a day. They put everything back, and this is what was left. now we shouldn't have the leaky issue.

Next issue -- finding a contractor. After meeting with 5 or 6 different people, we decided to go with a referral of Roz's dad. He has to work nights and weekends, but we got a good vibe from him, and he knew what we wanted. Progress!

Pipe Dream Basement

This is what we saw when we first toured our house, and still decided to buy it!!

So, Pat and I got a little crazy lately. One day, we noticed a leak in our basement. This prompted me to start destroying built-ins that had been in our basement for at least a half century!

This also
prompted us to fix up our lame-o
basement. Only problem?? Lots o' built-in stuff that had pretty much been permanently drilled in, leaky basement issues and pipes hanging down in your face as you walked through.

We didn't let it stop us. We started to destroy.
Turns out, I'm really good at breaking stuff. Pat and I destroyed this old desk and work
bench, built in cabinets and more!
HEre are some pictures after we got done destroying things! !!
